HYGGE

A space perfect for two growing boys aged 6 and 10, follows a clean and minimal design brief. References of Scandinavian design can be seen here along with a touch of yellow to make the space bright and cheerful for the children. A linear design pattern is followed throughout the space which adds to the aesthetic as well as serves the purpose of handles on cupboards and grooves to pull out drawers. Aspects of the Danish style for a happy and content life - HYGGE - is stressed here to emphasise finding joy in everyday moments and practice mindfulness, with the hopes to instil and ensure a good quality of life in the boys since such a young age. The different moods created by light allows the boys to use the space to study and finish their chores during the day as well as take in the evening by relaxing under soothing lights. Creative design solutions are implemented to maximise storage to promote living a clutter-free life and build a relation between humans and their space by adding fun elements to interact with their furniture.
